» RE ENGINEERING AND MODIFICATION OF GENERATOR CLASS A, B, C, D TRIPPING LOGIC I9N 210 MW UNIT- 5 AT GANDHINAGAR TPS WAS DONE AND THERE BY 6.6KV US BUS TRIPPING WAS AVOIDED.
»THE PROBLEM OF ONLINE BRUSH REPLACEMENT WAS ADDRESSED AND RESOLVED BY GENERATOR BRUSH GEAR ASSEMBLY MODIFICATION IN 210 MW UNIT- 5OF GANDHINAGAR T.P.S.
» GENERATOR DRY –OUT BY HOT WATER CIRCULATION AT GANDHINAGAR WAS FIRST IMPLEMENTED IN UNIT-5 AND SUBSEQUENTLY SAME WAS ADOPTED AND IMPEMENTED IN UNIT – 3 & 4.
» IN 210 MW UNIT-4 OF GTPS. D.C.JOP WAS OUT OF SERVICES DUE TO ARMATURE REACTION PROBLEM OF MOTOR AND THE TURBO GENERATOR WAS RUNNING WITHOUTS THIS VITAL AUXILIARY SINCE 1989. THE PROBLEM WAS SORTED OUT AND THE PUMP WAS TAKEN IN SERVICES SUCCESSFULLY IN YEAR 2000.
» THE CONTROL SUPPLY OF AVR SYSTEM WAS MADE MORE RELIABKE PROVIDING ADDITIONAL 48 VOLT SOURCE FROME BATTERY SET IN UNIT-3 & 4 AND THERE BY INCRASES THE AVALIBILITY OF EXCITATION SYSTEM AND THE MACHINE IN ALL.
» THE PROVISION OF “EMERGENCY START” PUSH BUTTON FOR DC JOP AND DC EOP WAS DONE IN 210 MW UNIT-3,4,5 TO ENSURE THE POSITIVE START OF THESE PUMPS FOR TURBO GENERATOR SAFTY.
» THE 24 VOLT DC DISTRIBUTIO WAS STRENGTHENED BY SHIFTING OF BATTERY BANK AND REARRANGING THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IN UNITS 5 OF GTPS AND THE MACHINE TRIPPING DUE TO LOW CONTROL VOLTAGE WAS RESOLVED.
» THE SUPPLY AIR DUCT MODIFICATION OF THYRISTOR ROOM WAS DONE FOR BERRER COOLING AND TO ENSURE POSITIVE PRESSURE IN THE ROOM TO ENHANCE THE LIFE TO THYRISTOR ROOM WAS DONE FOR BETTER COOLING AND TO ENSURE POSTIVE PRESSURE IN THE ROOM TO ENHANCE THE LIFE TO THYRISTOR AND THE EXCITATION SYSTEM AS WHOLE.
» THE SINGNALING SYSTEM WAS UPGRADED BY REPLACING THE “FILAMENT LAMP” BY LED INDICATORS AND ACHIEVED THE REDUCTION IN DOWN TIME OF AUXILIERY. THE LOADING ON THE BATTERY BANK HAD ALSO REDUCED AFTER THIS MODIFICATION.
» THE ANNUNICATION OF COMPRESSORS IN UNIT – 3 & 4 WERE REPLACED BY MICROPROCESSOR BASED ONE AND RELIABILITY OF THE SAME WAS ENSURED WITH THE AVIALABILITY OF COMPRESSOR.
» THE PROBLEM OF BFP TRIPPING ON MOTOR DIFFRENTIAL PROTECTION WAS RESOLVED BY REENGINEERING THE PROTECTION CIRCUITS IN BFP MOTOR FEEDER OF UNIT- 3&4.
» TOP RIPPLE SPRING PROVISION WAS DONE IN UNIT – 3 & 4 GENERATOR TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF STATOR E/F.
